Custom PrestaShop modules by Tebim – solutions that extend your store's capabilities

Reading time: 8 minutes

Not every eCommerce feature can be implemented using PrestaShop’s built-in capabilities or off-the-shelf extensions. That’s why at Tebim, we develop our own PrestaShop modules to address specific business needs.

Our solutions are shaped by hands-on experience from real-world implementations and the challenges we see across the eCommerce industry. Explore our custom PrestaShop modules, see how they work, and discover the problems they help solve.

Why do we develop our own PrestaShop modules?

Off-the-shelf PrestaShop modules can solve many common challenges, but they don’t always meet a store’s specific requirements.

What if you want to run a promotion limited by both time and available stock, let sales representatives prepare shopping carts for customers, or automatically flag orders that require special handling during fulfillment?

These are exactly the kinds of challenges that inspire us to develop our own PrestaShop modules. We build them to streamline daily operations, automate repetitive tasks, and make shopping easier for customers.

And importantly, our solutions aren’t exclusive to a single project. We can implement and adapt them for other PrestaShop stores as well. This means not every new feature has to be developed from scratch.

Custom PrestaShop modules developed by Tebim

Tebim Super Cena – limited-time flash sales

Limited-time promotions are a popular way to generate interest and encourage customers to make purchasing decisions faster. But running an effective flash sale involves more than simply reducing a product’s price.

Imagine an online store planning a promotion for a single product, available for just a few hours and limited to a specific number of units.

Customers should be able to see how much time is left and how popular the offer is. Meanwhile, the store needs a way to manage the promotion without manually adjusting its settings while the sale is running.

That’s exactly what we designed the Tebim Super Cena module to do.

It enables stores to create flash sales with configurable settings, including:

  • the product included in the promotion,
  • the promotion’s start and end times,
  • the maximum number of units available at the promotional price,
  • the discount amount,
  • an optional discount code.

On the storefront, the promotion appears in a dedicated product tile featuring a countdown timer and the number of units sold. An additional promotional section is displayed on the product page, directly below the Add to Cart button.

This makes it easy for customers to recognize a limited-time or limited-quantity offer and check its current conditions.

On the technical side, the module integrates with the quantitydiscountpro discount mechanism. If that module isn’t installed, it uses PrestaShop’s native cart rules to manage discounts.

Watch also: Flash sale in action.

How does your store benefit?

You can launch engaging promotional campaigns without having to develop a custom feature for every new sale. Time and quantity limits help you control promotional conditions, while the visible countdown reinforces the offer’s limited availability.

Real-world example: The Tebim Super Cena module has been used by Eltrox, an online retailer where promotions and sales-supporting features play an important role in its eCommerce strategy.

OpenAI Pixel – preparing your store for new advertising opportunities

The marketing channels available to online retailers are constantly evolving. Alongside traditional search engines, social media, and advertising platforms, new opportunities powered by artificial intelligence are emerging.

As these channels develop, stores need the right analytics infrastructure and mechanisms for tracking and sharing customer activity events.

To address this need, we developed OpenAI Pixel, a custom PrestaShop module that supports OpenAI Pixel event scripts and the OpenAI Conversions API.

The module provides an integration layer for handling events used within OpenAI’s advertising ecosystem.

Why does this matter?

Launching an advertising campaign is only part of the process. It’s equally important to capture and share relevant information about user interactions and conversion events to help measure campaign performance.

OpenAI Pixel was developed to help PrestaShop stores prepare for these tracking and measurement requirements in an emerging advertising channel.

How does your store benefit?

Instead of developing event tracking and integration mechanisms from scratch, stores can use an existing solution designed for this purpose.

The events that can be collected and shared, as well as how that data can be used, depend on the availability, current specifications, and configuration of the relevant OpenAI services.

This module is an example of how we develop our technology in response to emerging opportunities that may shape the future of eCommerce marketing.

Product comparison – making it easier to choose from a large catalog

The larger a store’s product catalog, the harder it can be for customers to compare similar products.

This is particularly noticeable in industries where purchasing decisions depend on multiple technical specifications or product features. Customers browse several product pages, open multiple browser tabs, and try to compare the details themselves.

It’s inconvenient, time-consuming, and can make choosing the right product more difficult.

The Tebim Product Comparison module simplifies the entire process.

Customers can add products to a comparison directly from category listings or individual product pages. Selected items are then displayed side by side, making their features easier to evaluate.

Instead of switching between multiple pages, customers can review all the products they’re considering in one place.

This is especially useful for stores offering products with similar purposes but different specifications, features, or prices.

How does your store benefit?

The main advantage is a smoother shopping experience. By organizing product information and highlighting differences, the comparison tool helps customers make more informed purchasing decisions.

It’s a feature that doesn’t necessarily change how the store is managed behind the scenes, but directly improves the customer experience.

Shared cart – easily sharing products and preparing orders

In a typical online shopping journey, customers select products, add them to their cart, and complete the checkout process.

But shopping doesn’t always work that way.

Sometimes customers need to discuss their cart with someone else, share a product list with a colleague, or ask a sales representative to put together a suitable selection of products.

These situations are particularly common in B2B eCommerce. A sales representative may help a business customer select products, while someone else within the company makes the final purchasing decision.

Emailing product lists, copying individual product links, or manually recreating an order is hardly the most efficient approach.

That’s why we developed the Shared Cart module, which makes it easy to share prepared shopping carts with other people.

How does it work?

A customer builds a shopping cart and copies a unique link that can be shared with anyone. The recipient can preview the products and choose whether to add them to their existing cart or replace its contents with the shared selection.

Simply opening the link doesn’t automatically modify the recipient’s cart.

The module also includes features designed for sales teams. Store employees can build a shopping cart from scratch in the PrestaShop back office by searching for products and their variants.

Once the cart is ready, they can email it to any address, even if the recipient doesn’t already have an account in the store.

How does your store benefit?

The main benefit is easier collaboration between customers and sales representatives. Instead of sending lengthy product lists or asking customers to recreate an offer manually, sales teams can share a ready-to-use shopping cart.

The recipient can then use it to place an order.

This solution works in both B2B and B2C environments, particularly when purchases involve consultations, custom product selections, or multiple decision-makers.

Tebim Order Tags + Workflow – automating order management

Not every eCommerce challenge is directly related to generating sales. Many issues arise after an order has been placed, when products need to be picked, packed, and prepared for shipping.

As order volumes increase, organizing these operations becomes increasingly important.

Imagine a company that includes a complimentary gift with certain products. Warehouse employees need to remember to add the gift when packing the order.

With a small number of orders, this can be handled manually. But as volumes grow, so does the risk of mistakes.

Order labels and automated rules can help employees keep track of additional fulfillment requirements.

At Tebim, we’ve developed two complementary solutions: Order Tags and Workflow.

The Order Tags module allows store administrators to assign custom labels to orders in the PrestaShop back office.

Each tag can have its own name and color, helping employees quickly identify orders that require special handling.

Tags are visible both on individual order pages and in the main order list. Orders can also be filtered by their assigned tags.

The Workflow module, meanwhile, supports rules that automate specific actions.

For example, if an order contains a particular product, the system can automatically add a tag such as “Include a free gift.”

This gives the employee packing the order a clear reminder that an additional step is required.

And that’s just one example of how this type of automation can be used.

How does your store benefit?

Better organization and a lower risk of missing important fulfillment steps. With clear order labels and automated rules, employees don’t have to rely entirely on manual communication.

The solution also makes it easier to identify and filter specific groups of orders, helping streamline order management in PrestaShop.

It demonstrates that eCommerce automation doesn’t always require a large-scale integration project. Sometimes a relatively small feature can solve a recurring operational problem.

Tebim Account Manager – personalized customer support

Automating online sales doesn’t mean every customer relationship needs to become impersonal.

In B2B sales especially, dedicated account managers remain essential. They understand their customers’ needs, assist with orders, and help develop long-term business relationships.

Challenges arise when the online store and sales team operate largely independently.

Customers use the eCommerce platform but may not have an easy way to contact their assigned account manager. Meanwhile, sales representatives may have limited visibility into the orders and purchasing activity of the customers they manage.

The Tebim Account Manager module brings self-service eCommerce and personalized sales support together.

The module allows account managers to be assigned to customers in several ways:

  • individually, for a specific business customer,
  • based on customer groups,
  • through a default account manager assignment.

Account manager details can be displayed in selected areas of the storefront, so customers know exactly who to contact when they need assistance.

The module also records the assigned account manager for each order.

Sales representatives have access to their own panel, where they can manage their profile information, absences, and substitute arrangements.

The solution also provides a foundation for reporting sales revenue by account manager.

How does your store benefit?

You can maintain personalized customer relationships while expanding your online sales channel. Customers can place orders independently while still having access to a dedicated point of contact.

For the business, the module helps organize sales team responsibilities and connect online orders to individual account managers.

It’s particularly valuable for B2B companies where long-term relationships and dedicated sales support are central to the sales process.

Off-the-shelf or custom modules – which should you choose?

Does every non-standard feature need to be developed from scratch? Absolutely not.

PrestaShop has an extensive ecosystem of ready-made modules that make it possible to add new functionality quickly. In many cases, using an existing extension is more affordable and straightforward than developing a custom solution.

However, problems arise when available modules don’t meet business requirements, involve too many compromises, or are difficult to integrate with other parts of the store.

In these situations, one of our custom-developed modules may be a better fit.

At Tebim, we maintain and expand our own library of PrestaShop modules that we can offer and implement for our clients.

This gives businesses access to functionality already developed by our team, with the option to adapt it to their store’s specific requirements.

It’s an approach that combines the convenience of ready-made solutions with the flexibility of custom development.

Of course, before implementing any module, it’s important to verify compatibility with the store’s PrestaShop version, theme, existing extensions, and business processes.

How we develop custom PrestaShop modules at Tebim

Developing a custom module shouldn’t start with writing code.

The first step is understanding the problem the feature needs to solve and determining whether custom development is actually necessary.

We begin by analyzing the business requirements and evaluating PrestaShop’s existing capabilities. We check whether the functionality can be implemented using built-in features or reliable third-party extensions.

If a custom solution is needed, we define its scope, functionality, and interactions with other parts of the store. Only then do we move on to development, testing, and implementation.

But getting a feature working at launch is only part of the job. It also needs to be maintainable, updatable, and ready for future development.

That’s why we pay close attention to software architecture and the impact each custom module has on the store as a whole.

Conclusion – expanding your store without building everything from scratch

Growing an eCommerce business doesn’t always require rebuilding the entire platform or developing a complex system from the ground up.

Sometimes, the right module is enough to solve a specific problem: streamline order management, make shopping easier, introduce a new promotional mechanism, or improve how the team works.

That’s the approach behind Tebim’s custom PrestaShop solutions. We develop them around real business needs and continue improving them so they can be used in future PrestaShop projects.

Our goal isn’t to build as many custom features as possible. It’s to create practical solutions that solve real problems and help online stores operate more efficiently.
